Ask Lady Gaga about the prosthetics on her face and shoulders and she'll tell you they're not prosthetics, they're bones. At least that's what she did to a Harper's Bazaarjournalist, insisting, "They've always been inside of me, but I have been waiting for the right time to reveal to the universe who I truly am. They come out when I'm inspired."
Now Gaga has admitted in an interview with NME that she actually considered making her facial protrusions permanent: "I did look into having them done permanently but decided against it. Mostly because of my boyfriend, if you want the truth."
Remember, though, that Gaga does not endorse plastic surgery. In her Harper's interview she explained her views on body modification, arguing, "I think that promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification."
Interesting! So: Gaga is cool with cosmetic surgery, so long as it's about art. It's hard not to wonder what her thoughts are on Heidi Montag, who might actually be considered a sculpture at this point.
