Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Kanye Accused of Robbing Songwriting Credits

Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Kanye West reportedly deserve no songwriting credits for the songs they recorded. Sparking the credit 'fraud' allegation was songwriter Heather Bright when she talked about working with big stars in a recent interview with Free-Wired.

"Rihanna takes publishing, Justin Bieber takes publishing, Kanye West takes publishing," Heather said. "On all the stuff that they don't write, they take publishing." She has songwriting credit in Justin's song "Somebody to Love" along with The Stereotypes.

When pressed with question on how the Canadian pop idol finally has his name as one of the songwriters, Heather said, "Umm... How did he get a writing credit on it? That's an interesting question." She added with a laugh, "I don't know."

As to why those stars don't write their own songs, she said, "You can't be Rihanna and be producing and writing records. You just can't be doing that. You just won't have time. All the appearances, the performances, and the 'this,' and the 'that,' you gotta show up to record, you gotta promote the album, go on tour."

After blasting RiRi, Justin and Kanye, Heather showed her respect for Lady GaGa as one of the few artists who really penned her own songs. She gushed, "It's amazing that they can find time to write! They have to write on tour, all of those artists who actually write!"

In her own blog, Heather also praised Britney Spears for not trying to "take something that wasn't hers." She co-wrote "Femme Fatale" track "Trouble for Me", and praised Britney's crew, "In my experience, from a business standpoint, her entire team is nothing less than a bonafide class act!"
