Official: Drake Is 2011 Juno Awards Host

Hot on the heels of his four Grammy nominations, Canadian rapper Drake is officially tapped as host of 2011 Juno Awards, an event held at his native. He is chosen for his "incredible strides on the national and international music scene in the past year and exemplifies the next generation of Canadian artists."

"I am beyond honored to be hosting this monumental Juno Awards in the greatest city on Earth," Drizzy said. "I want to bring a youthful energy to the show and encourage people to be excited about what Canadian music has to offer. See you all at the show."

This year, Drizzy got four Juno nominations and won two of them. He beats Justin Bieber, Danny Fernandes, Carly Rae Jepsen and Shiloh in New Artist of the Year, and pushed aside Classified, K'naan, k-os and the "Still Fly" crew in Rap Recording of the Year.

Also, he made a live duet with Bieber. "People are still buzzing over his performance last year on the Juno Awards, and we can't wait to see what's in store this time around!" said president and CEO of CARAS and the Juno Awards Melanie Berry.

The 2011 Juno Awards will mark the 40th Anniversary of the annual prize-giving event. It will air live from the Air Canada Centre on Sunday, March 27, 2011 with tickets going on sale starting Saturday, February 5.

At the Grammy Awards itself, Drake is vying for Best New Artist, Best Rap Solo Performance, Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group and Best Rap Album. The winners will be announced in a live event to take place at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 13, 2011 and broadcast on CBS at 8 P.M. ET/PT.
