First Image of 'X-Men: First Class' Main Cast Emerges

An image of "X-Men: First Class" has surfaced online, giving the first look at main cast of the film. While James McAvoy who portrays Charles Xavier had been spotted on the set, this is the first time he is seen wearing X-Men uniform.

Also featured in the image are his future nemesis Michael Fassbender's Erik Lensherr, and other mutants including Rose Byrne's Moira MacTaggert, January
Jones' Emma Frost (the White Queen), Nicholas Hoult's the Beast, Lucas Till's Havoc, Zoe Kravitz's Angel Salvadore, and Jennifer Lawrence's Raven Darkholme (Mystique).

The photo was first premiered by MSN but the page no longer exists. It now can be seen here.

"X-Men: First Class" will chart the epic beginning of the "X-Men" saga and follow Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr when they were still close friends who worked together with other mutants to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. "It's about how Xavier - if you know X-Men universe - how Professor Xavier and Magneto kind of met and became friends and how that friendship turned into something else," producer Bryan Singer once explained.

"It takes place in the early 60s and it incorporates some characters I was able to bring back in time that are familiar, as well as some new characters, new mutants," he added. "Also, there's a new villain component, a really cool villain and villain group. It's a really cool and fun story. It will be the first Silver Age Marvel movie."

Having "Kick-Ass" helmer Matthew Vaughn serving behind the lens, the action sci-fi movie is slated to come out in the U.S. on June 3.
