Aamir Khan screens 'Peepli Live' for PM
Aamir Khan has been asked by the prime minister of India to screen a private viewing of Peepli Live.
It is claimed that Dr Manmohan Singh does not watch films on a regular basis and this is said to be only the fourth film he has seen in seven years.
Khan, along with cast members Anusha Rizvi and Omkardas Manikpuri and producer Ronnie Screwvala, went to the Singh residence in Delhi to show him their work.
Dr Singh watched Khan's latest release with his family and a few selected guests.
The 45-year-old actor commented: "It was an honour for us that our honourable prime minister Shri Manmohan Singh saw our film Peepli Live. His words of praise and encouragement for the film meant a lot to me."
The film on rural poverty, released in a number of markets last month, hits UK screens September 24.
